In 2014, Keith Richards wrote Gus & Me, a kid’s book, to tell his story about his maternal grandfather, “Gus” Dupree, who taught him about music and gave him his first guitar! This book is part of the discussion in our Birthday Twins episode about Keith and sideman extraordinaire, Bobby Keys!

KR’s daughter, Theordora, who was sort of named for Gus (aka Augustus Theodore), did the art work and illustrations. The book includes a special CD spoken word version by Keith.
